Re-Doctered Spline Casts
A lot of people complained about the volume on the Spline Casts. One of our sound engineers at Pixar helped fix the levels and re-exported them. He also fixed the Pete Docter Spline Cast so that it actually had the bi-naural head effect working. It sounds really cool. Listen to it with head phones and you will experience how it was meant to sound. Here are the links to past Spline Casts. I’ll update them on iTunes when I have the chance. They are all audio only and the Pete Docter Spline Cast is in a semi-rough format. All the great info is there though.

That “bi-naural” thing is crazy. Pete Docter whispering in my ear? Creepy, but somehow very cool at the same time…

Solid gold content, and even better quality! This gives me a good reason to listen to them all again (as if I need another good reason).
Thanks!

Damn! I decided to re-listen to all of the originals a couple of weeks ago - I finished on the Pete Docter cast just yesterday!
Oh well, it can’t hurt to listen to them again
Thank you!

Really helps you pay attention.
Are you sure it isn’t bin-aural?
Jorge "Jay" Garcia
Bi-naural…brilliant!
Once again thanks for all the work you put into this. It’s really inspiring for aspiring animators such as myself.

Oh I can’t wait to hear the Pete Doctor thing again! I was sorta dissappointed that I couldn’t really hear the effect. So Yea!
Thanks for fixing the sound levels, it’ll make it much easier to listen to on the L.

Listening to them right now while I animate. I am only on Stanton Part 2 in the list, but I am really enjoying it.
Thank you for these. =)

Hey there.
Just binged on all the interviews while plugging away on cartoons here at work.
It is quite refreshing and inspiring to hear this stuff.
Thanks to all the Doctors for taking the time to do this.
Muchly appreciated.

Hi guys,
I just wanted to tell you this little story.
I listened to your excellent interview with Ralph Eggleston on a bus from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv (on my way back from teaching animation, actually). While I was listening, some girl on the bus had a phone call, and I caught a glimpse of her cellphone wallpaper…it was a frame from “For the Birds”. :))) All of a sudden if felt really good to be part of this great art form called “animation”.
Just wanted to tell you this little thing, and maybe you can also tell Mr. Eggleston.
Thanks for the great work you do on this blog, it’s really cool of you to take the time.

I love the podcasts. And I’m not even in Animation or Art even (finance, in fact - a suit!), but I really enjoy hearing about all the aspects in the process of creating films at Pixar.
