Animate - on your iPhone!
A fellow pixarian named Josh Anon, wrote a really cool i phone app called flipbook. I have been having alot of fun drawing and animating on this really cool application. It has onion skinning, it has multiple layers, and its easily the best paint program available for the iPhone. It really is an amazing program. After you are done creating your masterpiece, you export it to the flipbook site and you can download the quicktime movie of the work and share it. Think about it, you are sitting in a coffee shop, or on the train. You can thumbnail out your whole scene on this thing. I recommend getting some sort of stylus. Its not easy to draw with your finger. For a version 1.0 app, its great and will only get better. (especially with my feedback)

nice, was thinking of buying an iphone. This I agree would be good for thumbnailing while you are waiting around. im sure a stylus off an nintendo ds would work fine.
good post again andrew.

Nice. Good enough reason to buy an iphone in itself!

nice. any chance this could be ported to the DS? there are similiar apps Ive tried for it, but this seems to have more features.

Stoked! Been waiting for something like this to come out. Just bought it for my iPod touch and it’s definately better and slicker than the other drawing packages on the iPhone/touch and animatable! Don’t get an iPhone… get a touch!

Ref stylus: just tried a DS stylus and does not work. Maybe a rubber tipped stylus to simulate finger skin..?

I use the Flipbook program from the DS, but prefer Animanatee and love it. The portable Cintiq animator. I think the iphone one seems a bit more sophisticated, though.

I love Animanatee for the DS, it’s really well done.
Did anybody have luck with the iPhone styli? I ordered this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Universal-Screen-Stylus-iPhone-Silver/dp/B001B084I8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1218835149&sr=8-1
and you need to push REALLY hard in order for it to register contact, which makes it pretty much useless. Ideas?
