Christian Bale Animation Contest
We got a bunch of really great entries. They come from all over the globe. Thanks to everyone who took the time to do this spur of the moment exercise. I know it must have been hard listening to a guy cursing for weeks on end. Give me a day or two to take a look the files with the other guys and we will announce the winner and post a bunch of them on the site. I wish I could have Christian Bale pick the winner since he supplied the inspiration. Again thanks for doing this and I will post them soon!

Oh man! Just looking at the picture of the entries gave me a HUGE laugh! Seeing all the different context people came up with, AWESOME! Can’t wait to see the animations! Great contest idea!

Aww, I was hoping to be able to actually watch them on the deadline. oh well, Im sure they’ll be great once posted.
Do you think you could give any tips when it comes to timing things out to match audio? I honestly naver tried to animate something to audio properly, I guess I never tried because I don’t know where to begin. I know to start marking down when specific sounds happen so I know what marks I have to hit, but when it comes time to animate, I’m not sure how to consistently match it up.
Is it generally a better idea to find the poses first before lip sync, or do some do the sync first then poses, or mix it up a bit?
Also, if you have source of places to find funny audio samples to animate to that would rock. (preferably something without cursing) I could grab some from my own vids from tv shows, but I feel like I have too many options, I could spend an eternity deciding on a piece of dialogue to use. heh
