Playboy Animation Contest??? Who Knew!!!
Teddy Newton, one of Pixars top artists/directors placed in the Playboy Animation contest. Check it out. Seems like a dream team of people who worked on this project… It was done a while back, but its in the 2009 contest. I’m curious what you win… Maybe a visit to the Mansion???

How did that not win outright? That was fantastic. Very cool team.
You know, you should try to interview Teddy Newton. I’m sure that would be interesting.

HA HA!! That was hysterical! Great little short, and it seemed like a lot of really cool people worked on it.
Jeremy Jutras
that was some great 2d stuff! Not sure if I agree with the choice of winner.. Newton’s should of grabbed it.

Note it was CO-Directed by Teddy Newton and Bert Klein, to give credit where credit is due. Lead Animator was Bert Klein (with a little help from some friends: Eric Goldberg, Shane Prigmore, Ken Morrisey ,Jeff Sergei, Phillip Pignotti, Dave Pimentel, John Williamson.)

Excellent. That’s also completely answered the question I asked in the run-up to the recent podcast:
“Have you ever considered producing an animated film that isn’t specifically aimed at younger people? (maybe under a different brand?)”
Nice.
Adam Pockaj
Nice! I saw this a couple years ago, one of my old teachers (John Williamson) was an animator on it. It’s great to see that its online

I second the idea of getting Teddy in for an interview. Get him to speak in his 1950′s voice the entire time for an extra +10 points

In case anyones wondering, the studio that helped produce the film-Barley Films-is based in Ireland and they’ve created lots of other great shorts, check out their site http://www.barleyfilms.net/

Loved Teddy’s style… and I can feel the Mr. Goldberg’s touch on some smears and cartoony animations! a great piece of work! thanx for sharing.

Eric Goldberg animated two amazing shots in Boys Night Out.
Anybody care to guess which ones? I’ll post the answer in a few days,
Phil Willis
Brilliant animation.
Nice retro style with that whole 60′s feel.
So … someone want to explain why the other animation won?
