Happy Halloween…Getting Ready for another Spline Cast
We are in crunch at work so, not much posting will be done for a bit. I hope to record a couple more Spline Casts. Any suggestions for who you might want to hear can be sent to the comments section. I hope to get some technical artists soon as well.. Again, thanks for all the support…

Would it be possible to do a podcast with the Animation Interns at Pixar who ended up staying there?
James
I would also like to hear from the animation interns. How they got there, there experience before coming to pixar etc.
How about one with Angus Maclane?
James

It’ll be interesting to hear from a TD and an animator responsible for a character.
I understand at Pixar there’s a really tight relationship between animators and character articulators during the creation of a character and would be awesome to go into their thought process when they interact.
Nick
Hey,
TD’s would be great.
Another good one might be Scott Clark? I had a class with him years ago and he was a great teacher and really knew acting. It might be interesting to hear his thoughts on acting and animation…
Ricky Nierva was a great one, thanks…

Another vote here for TD’s!!!

How about John Lasseter?
Calvin Prieto
Hey Andrew,
I would also love to hear from a TD. Some friends and I will be starting a new animated short for our thesis project at the beginning of next year, and we actually had some questions about character articulation and setup. Specifically, how we could create multiple characters with building the least amount of rigs as possible. I was wondering how Pixar goes about designing characters for a film knowing that the character articulation phase is costly and time consuming. I remember the Incredible’s DVD talking about how all the background characters were created from a single universal man. It would be awesome to get some insight on how you guys were able to create so many different looking characters out of one person, and how important the design phase is when deciding which characters will use the same rig?
Thanks,
Calvin

Animation Roundtable 2009!!!!!!
And/or maybe a vote for TD.
Rob
All the guests have been awesome so far, but I second that vote for another Animation Roundtable! The first one is still one of my favorites by far.
Ryan
I am all for hearing more about technical direction. I have been working as a TD for a few years now and I am eager to learn more.
Clutch
Mark Walsh! Please!
Thomas
I’m flipping through the Art of Ratatouille here, and I would like to hear Jason Deamer talk or Carter Goodrich – in other words more character designers! How about putting together a talk with one character designer, a sculptor (such as Dykstra or Ranft) and a technical director? Maybe they could talk about the relationship between them within the process.
Thank you.
jason
09 animation interns as well as Lee Unkrich would be most welcomed
Theresa Adolph
why not interview the doctors?
Jeremy Jutras
I would also love to hear from pixar animation interns!
Paul
Kyle Balda or Mark Oftedal please!!!
Dave Goliszek
Angus Maclane would be cool.
Also, you could also do a narrative bio on yourself, or maybe have someone interview you.
Denns
I don’t know if you can make this happen, but I’d actually love to hear an interview with Dr. Gregory to hear what it was like for him going from movies to games and if his workflow has changed any to accomodate shorter deadlines or animating at 60 fps. Thanks for the spline casts!
Daniel Huertas
Mike Makarewicz?
Ismini

alonso
another vote for Animation Roundtable 2009
I’m sure she’s super busy but what about Brenda Chapman?
mike
I also think it would be nice to hear from recent interns. I also agree with Angus Maclane, the Spline Doctors, or even Mark Oftedahl if that’s possible. Thanks.
Nathan
Id like to hear a Splinecast on you Gordo!
rblitz7
NEW HIRES!!! I know the animation podcast recently did one with a few recently hired Disney artists, which I though was very informative. Would be cool to hear from some new Pixar artists as well. Thanks!
alonso
How bout some ladies, a panel of women animators?
Jeremy Jutras
Yeah, interns or new hires for sure!! I’d love to hear how they got into pixar, and what it was like meeting the crew/training.
MarcusTJL
Animation Roundtable!!!!
Actually any Roundtable sessions would be nice, it’s more lively and spontaneous with multiple points of views, here’s a thought;
TD’s & Animators Roundtable 2009.
It’ll open up some interest topics on what animators think of the rigs and vice~versa for TD’s.
Ben Krolick
I’d love to hear more from John Kahrs.
Or, like many, an updated Animation Roundtable.
Keep up the great work guys n gals!

I’ld love to hear from animation interns or recent hires. Also, as a student in ny, it would be great to hear from any east coast recent grads talk about making cross country connections and making the jump from commercial work to feature films.
Also, I’ld like to hear from Austin Madison. I saw a video of him being interviewed about an internship at Pixar a couple months after starting college and it would be super helpful to get insight from someone who was able to get into Pixar right out of college.
thanks
Tania
i would love to hear from Bud Lucky.
I loved the animations he use to do on Sesame Street and I think that his drawing and designs are fantastic!
Dave Goliszek
Not , sure if you’ve found anyone for the next splinecast or not, but Dylan Brown would be a great interveiw also. He seems like he’s been involved a lot over there at Pixar.
Graham
Just heard a talk from Peter Sohn. Heard him speak twice and he’s always got great and funny things ta talk about. Either that or Jerome Ranft.
Vikthor
Sharon Calahan !!
Fred
Can ya’ll stop crunching on ya food during recording?
