To bad the master himself is getting worse at following the lessons he preaches so passionately. As for his training, John K. doesn't train animators, he trains assistants capable of following his layouts. Little else.

Interesting letter, but everyone knows that john k is full of it. So limited in his views, and very backwards looking when it comes to film making and animation. We don't live in the 1940's. There were some good short cartoons made back then--but MOST were pretty lame.

His drawings and cartoons are self indulgent messes with little to no respect for any conceivable audience.

And, when he doesn't get his way, he's a quitter. His whole "I'm an Arteest!" line is silly. He was fired from Ren and Stimpy because he agreed to a budget and schedule, and then disregarded it---repeatedly. How unprofessional.

I suppose it doesn't really matter, as he's not made a cartoon that was worth watching--or even funny--for almost 20 years. Rose colored glasses by anyone, especially his sycophants, can't undo that fact.

He's an interesting personality, but not a particularly good director or teacher.
