Hi Everyone!
Sorry for taking so long to introduce myself, but life has been very busy.
So a little background about me…
I went to school at the Academy of Art College. I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do, I just knew I wanted to work in the movie industry. I love movies.
There, I sort of fell into Animation. 3d Animation. I had a class on 2d animation at the school, but that is about as far as my expertise in 2d goes. You can say I am a completely 3d trained animator. Anyway, I started taking the 3d classes, and managed to get into the Pixar Animation classes that are offered at the Academy. This is where I really learned about animation.
Andrew Gordon, Mike Venturini, Scott Clark and Angus MacLane were my teachers while I was taking Pixar 1 and 2. And boy did I learn a lot from those guys. After I graduated from the Academy I applied for the Pixar Internship program, which I am so happy I was accepted.
From there I interned for 3 months, and then was hired on as an animator for The Incredibles. Since then I have Animated on Jack Jack Attacks dvd short, Cars, Mater and the Ghostlight dvd short, One Man Band, Ratatouille, Wall-e, and now I will be jumping onto Pixars next feature, UP.
On the side I work on a personal 3d project, as well as teaching at the Academy. I’m trying to give back.
So there’s a little info about me, and I hope to be a valuable addition to the Spline Doctors.
Dr. Makarewicz
